People in Scripture Who Saw God<\/b><\/p>\n
I\u2019ve had so much fun looking up the people who saw God in the
\nBible. Maybe you can think of some I missed.<\/p>\n
People in the Old Testament Who Saw God<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
1. Adam and Eve<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam,<\/p>\n
and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up<\/p>\n
the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God<\/p>\n
had taken from man He made into a woman, and He<\/p>\n
brought her to the man. (Genesis 2:21\u201322)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
2. Cain and Abel<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain<\/p>\n
brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the<\/p>\n
LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his fl ock<\/p>\n
and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his<\/p>\n
offering. (Genesis 4:3-4)<\/p>\n

3. Enoch<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God<\/p>\n
three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. And<\/p>\n
Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took<\/p>\n
him. (Genesis 5:22, 24)<\/p>\n

4. Noah, His Wife, His Sons, and Their Wives<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man,<\/p>\n
perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.<\/p>\n
(Genesis 6:9)<\/p>\n
So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went<\/p>\n
in as God had commanded him; and the LORD shut him<\/p>\n
in. (Genesis 7:16)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
5. Abraham<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, \u201cTo your<\/p>\n
descendants I will give this land.\u201d And there he built an<\/p>\n
altar to the LORD, who had appeared to him. (Genesis<\/p>\n
12:7)<\/p>\n
So the LORD went His way as soon as He had fi nished<\/p>\n
speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his<\/p>\n
place. (Genesis 18:33)<\/p>\n

6. Sarah<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, \u201cAfter I<\/p>\n
have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old<\/p>\n
also? But Sarah denied it, saying, \u201cI did not laugh,\u201d for<\/p>\n
she was afraid. And He said, \u201cNo, but you did laugh!\u201d<\/p>\n

And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the<\/p>\n
LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken. (Genesis 21:1)<\/p>\n

7. Hagar<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her,<\/p>\n
You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, Have I also<\/p>\n
here seen Him who sees me? (Genesis 16:13)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
8. Ishmael<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
So God was with the lad [son of Hagar]. (Genesis 21:20)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
9. Isaac<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
And the LORD appeared to him [Isaac] the same night<\/p>\n
and said, \u201cI am the God of Abraham your father; fear<\/p>\n
not, for I am with you and will bless you and multiply<\/p>\n
your descendants for my servant Abraham\u2019s sake.\u201d<\/p>\n

your descendants . . . Behold, I am with you and will keep<\/p>\n

Then God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell<\/p>\n
there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to<\/p>\n
you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.<\/p>\n

12. Joseph<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man;<\/p>\n
. . . But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy,<\/p>\n
and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the<\/p>\n
prison. (Genesis 39:2a, 21)<\/p>\n
And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into<\/p>\n
Egypt. But God was with him . . . (Acts 7:9)<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
13. Moses<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the<\/p>\n
king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.<\/p>\n

14. Aaron<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the<\/p>\n

servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart<\/p>\n
from the tabernacle. (Exodus 33:11)<\/p>\n
Then the LORD said to Moses, \u201cBehold, the days approach<\/p>\n
when you must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in<\/p>\n
the tabernacle of meeting, that I may inaugurate him.\u201d So<\/p>\n
Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the<\/p>\n
tabernacle of meeting. . . . Then He inaugurated Joshua<\/p>\n
the son of Nun, and said, \u201cBe strong and of good courage;<\/p>\n
for you shall bring the children of Israel into the<\/p>\n

18. Balaam<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
The utterance of him who hears the words of God, who<\/p>\n
