“One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.”    Psalms 27:4

Pastor Patti Velotta says:

“Out of intimacy comes produce.  When David is talking about the one thing he desires and willfully seeks, it’s clearly to be with the Lord every minute, to live with Him.  Out of that intimacy comes knowledge, gratitude, appreciation and direction.  When David is in trouble, he does not seek information first, but he seeks the Lord’s face.  Out of intimacy comes produce.

We want direction.  We want the solutions to our problems.  We want understanding.  We want Jesus to fix our world.  But instead, He fixes us. And He does that through being with us.”

Bob Wieland says:

When we experience Jesus in a painful memory in an Immanuel session, He does not heal by giving us information about the situation or the people involved.  He doesn’t heal by giving us a “to-do list”.  He doesn’t put the onus of responsibility on us by saying things like, “you just got to trust Me Bob.”  He doesn’t say things like, “you just have to forgive ______”. He doesn’t give us Bible verses (especially in King James English).  Instead He deals with us right where we are.  If a painful event happened when I was 2 years old and He takes me back there, He works with me right there with my 2 year old emotional capacity.  He doesn’t give me “grown-up” instructions and details.  No, He ministers to that little hurting 2 year old heart.

His healing is accomplished by the sheer nature of His presence and personality there with us in this intimate connection.  Healing comes by “beholding His beauty.”  When we know that we know that He is there with us, He fills the screen and we don’t feel the painful emotions any longer.  The lies that we have believed based on that memory go away with the emotions.  We experience righteousness, peace and joy instead of sin, wounds and lies.
