Intimacy Vs Information

“One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.”  Psalms 27:4

Out of intimacy comes produce.  When David is talking about the one thing he desires and willfully seeks, it’s clearly to be with the Lord every minute, to live with Him.  Out of that intimacy comes knowledge, gratitude, appreciation and direction. When David is in trouble, he does not seek information first, but he seeks the Lord’s face.  Out of intimacy comes produce.

We want direction.  We want the solutions to our problems.  We want understanding.  We want Jesus to fix our world.  But instead, He fixes us. And He does that through being with us.  Actually, I find that the number one block to healing is information.  If we settle for information, we miss the target of relationship with Jesus:  Intimacy.

Here are some verses that illustrate this:

Moses, who endured as seeing Him who is invisible. (Hebrews 11:27), said “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” Exodus 33:15.

David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me”. Psalms 23:4

What’s God’s best for us?  Jesus tells us in John:

John 15:4-5   “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 17:21, 23   “…That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me…I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

In His Presence, we find righteousness, peace and joy.

Psalms 17:2  “Let my vindication come from Your presence; Let Your eyes look on the things that are upright.”

John 20:19  “Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.””

Isaiah 26:3  “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Psalms 16:11  “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Acts 2:28  “You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.

His presence is our highest prize.  His presence is our solution:

John 16:33  “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Luke 12:32  “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom”
